Tika was born in a breeding facility in Tennessee on November 22, 1995. She and her brother came to live at Out of Africa when they were four weeks old. Tika's name means “wonder of life”. The last known wild Royal White Bengal Tiger was captured in India in the 1950's. Today there are approximately 700 white tigers in captivity.
McCabe was born November 22, 1995 in Tennessee. He and his sister, Tika, are the offspring of the American and European lines of Royal White Bengal Tigers. They began playing in Tiger Splash at three months. They played for many years until they finally grew weary of the toys. Now both enjoy a more leisurely life. They are leashable and have made many excursions through the park. McCabe is named in honor of Bill and Elisabeth McCabe, the park doctor and his wife.
