Dr. Williams is a Board Certified, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.  In 1999 Dr. Williams relocated from a group practice in Michigan to begin his own practice in North Scottsdale.  He specializes in all types of aesthetic surgery of the face and body as well as reconstructive surgery following traumatic injuries or cancer surgery.

Dr. Williams warns prospective patients to be very careful when choosing their plastic surgeon.  "There are three things that are crucial to a safe and satisfying cosmetic surgical experience," says Dr. Williams.  "First, and most important, find a surgeon who is qualified.  There are many physicians that perform cosmetic surgery who are not plastic surgeons." He recommends looking for a plastic surgeon that is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the highest level of accreditation a true plastic surgeon can attain.

"Second, find a surgeon with whom you are comfortable; someone who will take the time to listen.  You should not feel rushed or pressured into surgery during your consultation."  It is not unusual for Dr. Williams to spend an hour or more with a new patient during his free consultation.

Third, Dr. Williams urges patients "to consider the commitment they must be willing to make to achieve the best possible outcome.  Maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and avoiding smoking before and after surgery speeds recovery time and improves results."

Dr. Williams was raised in Texas and earned his undergraduate degree from Austin College followed by his medical degree from Texas Tech university health Sciences Center.  He completed his General Surgery training in The Houston Medical Center followed by a Hand and Microvascular Fellowship, also in Houston. He was then chosen to go to Michigan to train in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under world renowned Craniofacial Surgeon, Dr. Ian Jackson.  Upon successful completion of his training and Board Certification, Dr. Williams entered private practice in Michigan for three years.

Accompanying Dr. Williams to the Soiree will be his office manager and skin care specialist, Jane Stapp.  Ann Hardison, ICN Pharmaceuticals Territory Manager, will also be on hand to provide use of a special camera that analyzes sun damage to skin.  Complimentary gift bags of GlyDerm skin care products will also be available.

It is with great pleasure that Dr. John Williams of North Scottsdale Plastic Surgery will be our Special Guest this week.  Please join us to socialize and meet new friends.
